When I started at Edelman custom content pieces for social were handled by the consumer team on the PR side and had little conceptual thinking behind them, as well as low engagement. I came in and shifted the dynamic and fought for the posts to be more conceptual and, basically, more fun. I also pushed for the the posts to be geared more towards our team’s strengths, like illustrations. The results: better posts, more engagement from fans and happier clients.
